Introducing Baby Kaleya!
Last Updated on November 12, 2021
Exactly a month ago, on Pi Day 3/14/15, our baby came into this world.
We named the little explorer Kaleya, meaning “filled with joy” in Hawaiian, and indeed she’s already filled our lives with so much happiness. Motherhood is challenging and I’m still struggling to learn the ropes but she makes all the difficulties worthwhile.
Coincidentally, we just found out that her name Kaleya also means “journey” in the Spanish Asturian language. It can’t be more appropriate. Even before she was born, she’s already been to seven countries, walked the Camino and went paragliding! Now she’s proving to be quite a trooper, loving car journeys and being out and about with us.
She’s already changed our lives completely and I’m excited to see how she’s going to grow and blossom into a little brave soul.
I leave you with some photos of Baby Kaleya that we’ve shot over the past month – you can already see how much she’s grown. A huge thank you to everyone who has showered us with so much well wishes!

jodihi Jodi, what a coincidence that you named your girl Kaleya too! Originally we wanted to name her Kalea, which is a Hawaiian name and it means full of joy. I added the ‘y’ to make it more unique and I prefer the way it’s spelled. What about you? How did you come up with the name? Is your girl turning 28 years old???
